Letter sent to Clarke Schools,
My daughter is the manager of the football team. This is Tessa (picture attached). She is a freshman with Down syndrome. She loves being on the football team, because the Mount Ayr kids have always rallied around her and supported her in everything she does. She loves being a part of the team.
When we played Clarke, at Clarke, as is her nature, she talked to everyone she met. That night Tessa came home with this gift, a Gatorade, Gummies and mints wrapped in cellophane. When I asked where she got it, she beamed, she was so excited and she told me that one of the Clarke cheerleaders gave it to her. She said the young lady told her she did a great job and was one of her “favorites.”
I can’t tell you her name or even what she looked like, but I can tell you this gesture proves she is kind and we appreciate her. It made Tessa’s night for someone to be so good to her. As you can see from the picture, she was grinning from ear to ear when she got home. Please know that we as parents appreciate the kindness and feel that you as faculty need to hear the “good things” that your kids are doing.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Shaun Kniep
