Mrs. Pankey’s 2nd grade students are working hard on their decoding skills, practicing words with long vowels, and remembering that sneaky silent e that makes the magic happen! 🔡✨ The students were incredibly engaged and eager to learn! Clarke Community School District will not have classes on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, due to a broken fire sprinkler line. It might not look like much, but these empty hallways represent a successful hold drill at Clarke Elementary School! A "Hold" is a precautionary call to clear the hallways and keep students in their classrooms. This procedure can be used for various reasons, such as a medical emergency, to ensure everyone stays safe and secure and the hallways clear. Students from other classes joined in to listen and cast their votes for the leader they believed in. The stakes? The winner of each class period’s election gets the ultimate prize: planning class for a day! 👏 ----- 🎉🇺🇸 ¡Cosas emocionantes están sucediendo en la clase de gobierno de la Sra. Last Friday, the CCHS boys wrestling team brought the energy and positivity to the elementary school for Fist Bump Friday! 👊 These role models showed what it means to be leaders, both in competition and in our community. Today, Miss Follmann’s class hosted Fireside Reading, and it was such a special time! Families and staff joined students to share the joy of reading together. 💜📖 Thank you to Miss Follmann, the students, families, and staff for making this event so wonderful. Our Physical Science students are kicking off their "Astronaut Lab" (a.k.a. the Egg Drop Lab)! 🥚🚀 Their mission? To keep their astronauts (cotton balls) safe in their capsule (cup). Students are getting creative as they: 📝 Set up a budget 📐 Design a blueprint 🛠️ Build their capsule Today, the construction phase began, and the excitement is sky-high! 🌌

🎶✨ What a magical evening! Thursday’s choir concert showcased the incredible talents of our 6th-12th grade choirs. The students sounded absolutely beautiful, with their harmonies leaving the audience in awe. There was even a surprise visit from The Grinch to bring some extra holiday cheer! 🎄💚 The night concluded with a breathtaking candlelight performance that left the auditorium silent in admiration. 🌟 A huge shoutout to our amazing students for their hard work and dedication, and to Ms. Owens and Mrs. Pohlmann for their outstanding leadership in creating such a memorable program. We couldn’t be prouder! ❤️🎤
