🚗💥 Our 8th grade students returned to a unit about contact forces and collisions the past couple weeks! As part of their project, they engineered and designed vehicles to keep an egg safe in a collision. Today, they put their designs to the test at the skatepark to see whose engineering skills protected the egg the best. It was an egg-citing day filled with creativity and learning! 🥚🚀 🚗💥 ¡Nuestros estudiantes de octavo grado regresaron a una unidad sobre fuerzas de contacto y colisiones en las últimas dos semanas! Clarke Science Bound had a special ceremony on Monday, May 13th, to celebrate the acceptance of 8th graders into the high school Science Bound program. The Science Bound program is Iowa State University’s pre-college through college program to increase the number of diverse Iowa youth who pursue degrees and careers in ASTEM fields. Additionally, our first senior generation of Science Bound students presented their Oral Justification and signed their certificates, officially receiving their scholarship to attend ISU. 🏃‍♂️🎉 First grade is having a blast in PE! 🏃‍♀️🎈 For their last PE class of the year, students got to pick some of their favorite activities from the year to enjoy. From riding scooters to hula hoops to the rock wall, they're having a great time staying active and having fun! 🏃‍♂️🎉 ¡El primer grado se lo está pasando genial en educación física! 🏃‍♀️🎈 Para su última clase de educación física del año, los estudiantes pudieron elegir algunas de sus actividades favoritas del año para disfrutar. 📚🌟 Clarke Elementary's 5th grade students took a deep dive into history with their English Language Arts Unit 4, focusing on civil rights. To showcase their learning, they prepared a remarkable wax museum featuring individuals who made a difference in civil rights. From Rosa Parks to Martin Luther King Jr., these young historians brought these iconic figures to life, sharing their stories and contributions to the civil rights movement. It was a powerful and inspiring display of knowledge and empathy. 🏅📚 Clarke High School celebrated academic excellence yesterday at our Academic Awards ceremony! 🌟 Congratulations to all our high school students who received recognition for their outstanding achievements. Students earning a G.P.A. of 3.25-3.74 were awarded a bronze medal, while those with a G.P.A. of 3.75-3.99 received a silver medal. A special congratulations to those with a G.P.A. of 4.0 and above, who earned a prestigious gold medal. Your dedication to academic excellence is truly inspiring, and we are so proud of each and every one of you! 🚜🌾 Clarke Elementary had a "Bring the Farm to School Day" and it was utterly fantastic! 🐄🌟 Our students had a marvelous time learning about agriculture and getting up close and personal with farm animals. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) today! 🌟 D.A.R.E. is a program that teaches students about the dangers of drug use and violence while promoting healthy and safe choices. Throughout the program, these students have learned valuable life skills that will stay with them for years to come. We're so proud of their hard work and dedication to making positive choices! There is a widespread phone outage that is affecting the incoming calls to Clarke Elementary School. This is not currently affecting the secondary campus. Please call the HS at 641-342-6505 for any elementary needs and you will be transferred to the elementary. This is NOT part of our safety exercise today.
